Formerly of South Africa, Marius, our resident family lawyer, migrated to Australia with his family in 2004 and is now a proud Australian citizen.
Growing up in South Africa, Marius’ initial career was as an instructor in the South African defence force and, having decided on a change, commenced legal practice in 1992. While working in South Africa, Marius had a successful legal career - appointed partner in two firms, being involved in several high profile legal matters including acting for several embassies and advising government solicitors with regard to affirmative action implementation.
Upon coming to Australia, Marius gained valuable experience in property and conveyancing matters, but then found his niche as a family lawyer. He is now exclusively practising in this area and is assisting clients with:
- Applying for Consent Orders
- Finalising Binding Financial Agreements for both married couples
and de facto couples
- Child Support Agreements
- Children’s Matters
- Divorce applications
- Recovery orders
As a family lawyer, Marius prides himself in seeking fairness and an acceptable outcome especially in matters relating to children. It has often been said that he is used to walking the “second mile.”
Having one of the best handicaps in the Dawes & Vary group, Marius
is an avid golfer and enjoys spending time with his family.
